This chapter is about family days. You learn the last form of a noun, as in bilarna, say our and their with vår and deras, use months and dates, describe what people look like and say more about a person with som.
Eight short lessons take one step each, from the definite plural to någon and ingen, telling a story in order and the sounds of rt, rs and ng. A reading text about a birthday party, a dialogue about family photos and the full chapter vocabulary follow.
Every lesson in this chapter is a written page. Read them in order, or open any lesson from the list.
Lessons
The Children and the Books
Use the definite plural for the ones you both know about, as in bilarna, husen and äpplena, learn the four forms of a noun together, and the forms that change more, such as männen.
Our, Your and Their
Say our, your and their with vår, er and deras, choose the form that fits the thing that is owned, and name the people in a family, from föräldrar to barnbarn.
Months, Dates and Birthdays
Name the twelve months, say a date such as den tredje maj with the ordinals up to trettioförsta, and ask and answer När fyller du år?
What People Look Like
Ask Hur ser hen ut?, describe a person with är and har, use the right adjective form with hår and ögon, and introduce someone with Det här är.
The Person Who
Join a description to a noun with som, as in en vän som bor i Lund, make two sentences into one, and see when som can be left out.
Someone and No One
Use någon, något and några for some or any, ingen, inget and inga for none, and say inte någon in a sentence with two verbs.
Telling What Happened
Tell a short story in the past with först, sedan, efter det, plötsligt and till slut, with the verb second after each of them.
The Sounds of rt, rs and ng
See from the spelling where r joins the sound after it, as in kort, barn and först, and where ng is one sound, as in lång and sjunga.
