About this course

Calculus is the math of change. It gives you a precise way to say how fast something is changing at a single instant, and how lots of tiny changes add up to a whole.

Pause whenever you want to work through an example on your own. The reference sheet has the rules you use most, and the tangent line explorer lets you see what a derivative is before you calculate one.

Good to know first

  • Algebra and solving equations
  • Functions and their graphs
  • Basic trigonometry
