What this site collects
Public learning pages can be read without an account. Visit statistics run only if you allow them.
Reading without an account
You can read the public learning pages without signing in. This site does not run advertising scripts.
Optional accounts
If you use an account, we store your email address, a salted password hash and the records needed to operate and protect your account. A necessary sign-in cookie keeps you signed in. This cookie is separate from your choice about visit statistics. Page visits can be counted on account pages, the Learning Path, test builders and practice pages. Answers, scores and account details are not sent to Web Analytics.
The account privacy notice explains account emails, security checks, service providers and your options to change, download or delete account information.
Visit statistics, only if you allow them
To learn how many people use the courses and where they come from, the site can count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It runs only after you choose Allow statistics. Until then, and if you choose No thanks, nothing is sent to Web Analytics. Neither choice changes access to the site or your account eligibility.
When it runs, it records
- the page address and the referring page address, without query strings or fragments,
- your country, worked out by Cloudflare from your IP address,
- your browser, operating system and type of device,
- loading and rendering performance, including which page elements affect responsiveness and layout.
It sets no cookies and, according to Cloudflare, does not fingerprint you or follow you across other sites. The results are only seen as totals, such as the number of visits from a country. Cloudflare processes this data on behalf of the site under its privacy policy. The legal basis is your consent. You can change your choice at any time below.
Statistics count page visits, including course pages, lessons, the Learning Path, practice, test builders, interactive tools and account pages. They do not record typed answers, passwords, email addresses, account IDs, individual scores or saved test names. Query parameters, such as an attempt ID or verification token, are removed by the beacon before it sends page addresses. This privacy settings page does not load the beacon. Visits are navigation counts, not a count of identified people.
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, the site treats that as No thanks and does not ask.
Your choice
Your answer is saved in your browser's local storage, so the site does not ask again. This entry holds only your visit-statistics choice, not your birthday or account information. Turning statistics off stops collection on subsequent page loads. Any open page with the statistics script reloads to stop it. Data already counted remains in aggregate reports.
Which learning activities are used
We also count starts and completions by course and test using the learning records already saved to provide your account. These internal totals help us improve the courses. The reports do not contain learner identities, answers, individual scores or custom test names, and are not sent to Cloudflare Web Analytics. They use retained records only, so totals can decrease when old attempts or accounts are deleted. The account privacy notice explains retention and your right to object to this use.
Videos
Course videos are hosted on YouTube. Opening a course page sends nothing to YouTube, because the player stays off until you press play.
When you press play, the video loads here in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. If JavaScript is off, or you open the play button in a new tab or window, it opens on youtube.com instead. Either way, from that point YouTube handles the video under its own privacy policy, and it may set cookies or store other data on your device.
You can also open any course directly on YouTube.
Hosting
Pages are delivered by a hosting provider. Like any web host, it receives standard technical details such as your IP address and browser type, which it needs to send you pages and protect the site from abuse. The host also keeps traffic totals, such as the number of requests and the countries they come from, which the site owner can see.

Changes
This page will be updated as the site's features change. If the information collected by optional visit statistics changes, the site will ask for your choice again.
