What you will learn
You can use the ordinal numbers from första to tionde for floors, streets and order. You can also ask how far a place is and how long it takes to get there.
First to tenth

Första and andra are special, like first and second in English. Tredje, fjärde and sjätte also look different from tre, fyra and sex. Femte, sjunde, åttonde, nionde and tionde stay close to fem, sju, åtta, nio and tio. Andra can also mean other, but here it means second.
Floors, streets and order

Say på tredje våningen and första gatan without den. Den första gatan is also used.
A number such as två is for counting, as in två gator. An ordinal such as andra is for order, as in andra gatan. The ordinal comes before the noun.
How far is it

Hur långt är det till …? is a fixed phrase that asks about distance. Ungefär means about. Kilometer has the same form for one and for more than one, so en kilometer and fem kilometer.
How long does it take

Hur lång tid tar det? asks about time, and it is a fixed phrase too. The answer starts with Det tar and gives minutes or hours. One minute is en minut, and more are minuter. One hour is en timme, and more are timmar. Långt is about distance. Lång tid is about time.
