This page holds every question from the video SAT Math Full Practice Test, Beginner Level, with a hidden worked answer for each one. The test has questions in two blocks of . Fifteen questions are on algebra, fifteen on advanced math, seven on problem-solving and data analysis and seven on geometry and trigonometry. Thirty-three are multiple choice with four options, and eleven are student-produced response questions, where you work out the answer and enter it yourself.
The questions are original practice written in the style of the digital SAT, at a beginner level. This is not an official test. The set is fixed, so it does not adapt to your answers the way the real test does, and a count of correct answers here does not convert to an SAT score.
Try each question on your own first, on paper or with the video paused. Then open the answer under the question, or jump to the explained answer in the video. Each question also names the lesson of this course that teaches its method, so a miss leads straight to the right place to review.
How to use this test
- Pick a block and work through its questions in order, reading each one to the end before you start.
- Write your answer down before you open the solution or follow the link to the explanation.
- Compare your steps with the worked answer, not only the final result.
- For each miss, note the cause, such as a gap in a concept, a misread question or a slip, and review the linked lesson before you try the question again.
- If you want timed practice, allow minutes for each block of questions, the time given for one module of the digital SAT.

The answer is (B), .
- An exponent counts repeated factors of the base. The first expression has three factors of and the second has four, and multiplying the expressions joins the two groups, .
- There are seven factors altogether, so . This is why exponents add when powers of the same base are multiplied.
- Multiplying by describes a different operation, raising to the fourth power, since . Joining the groups also does not create a coefficient of .
- As a numerical check, at the product is , and as well. The factor count shows that the identity holds for every real , including zero.
Choice (A) multiplies the exponents as if the expression were . Choice (C) adds a coefficient of that nothing supports. Choice (D) subtracts the exponents as if dividing powers.
Question 7
Algebra, multiple choice
A container initially holds liters of water. Water enters at a constant rate of liters per minute. For , the function gives the volume in liters after minutes. What does represent?
(A) The initial volume in liters (B) The volume after minutes (C) The time needed to add liter (D) The increase in volume for each additional minute
Try it in the video or watch the explained answer.
Learn the method in Slope and Rate of Change and Intercepts and Linear Models.
Show the answer
The answer is (D), the increase in volume for each additional minute.
- The variable counts minutes. Multiplying it by gives the water added during those minutes, so the coefficient has units of liters per minute.
- At minutes there are liters, after minute there are and after minutes there are , since , and . Each one-minute step adds liters.
- The graph starts at because that is the initial amount. Its slope is liters per minute, because it rises liters for each one-minute increase in time.
- Choice (D) states that rate. After minutes the volume is liters, and adding liter takes minute. Those are different quantities from the increase of liters each minute.
Choice (A) confuses the coefficient with the initial value . Choice (B) confuses a rate with a total volume, which would be . Choice (C) reverses the rate, since the time per liter is minute.
Question 8
Problem-Solving and Data Analysis, multiple choice
A youth club had members. Its membership increased by percent. How many members does it have after the increase?
(A) (B) (C) (D)
Try it in the video or watch the explained answer.

Show the answer
The answer is (C), members.
- The percentage applies to the original members. Fifteen percent means out of each , so the added membership is .
- Ten percent of is , and five percent is . Together they make additional members. The original still has to be included.
- Adding gives members, so choice (C) is correct. Adding directly would treat a percentage as a fixed count of members.
- Check the change in the other direction, , which is percent.
Choice (A) reports the increase rather than the final membership. Choice (B) adds members rather than percent of . Choice (D) subtracts the change of members.

Show the answer
The answer is (B), degrees.
- The three interior angles of a triangle add to degrees. Writing for the measure of angle in degrees gives .
- Since , the remaining angle is degrees.
- Choice (B) is correct. The in choice (A) is the sum of the two given angles, so it does not yet answer the question about the remaining angle.
- As a final check, , so the completed triangle satisfies the angle sum.
Choice (A) reports the sum of the given angles. Choice (C) copies angle without using the sum. Choice (D) reports the total of all three angles instead of one angle.
Question 11
Algebra, multiple choice
A craft session charges a -dollar entry fee plus dollars per kit. A participant can spend at most dollars. If is the nonnegative integer number of kits, which inequality describes the allowed values of ?
(A) (B) (C) (D)
Try it in the video or watch the explained answer.
Learn the method in Solving Linear Inequalities.
Show the answer
The answer is (A), .
- At most means that spending exactly dollars is allowed. The entry fee and the kit costs are both part of that total, so the inequality uses a less than or equal to sign, .
- Subtracting leaves for the kits. Dividing by the positive cost of dollars per kit gives .
- The boundary is included, so choice (A) describes the allowed counts. The permitted values are the integers from through , including itself.
- Eight kits cost dollars, exactly the limit. Nine kits would cost dollars, which is more than . A strict inequality would wrongly exclude a permitted purchase.
Choice (B) excludes the allowed boundary of kits. Choice (C) reverses the permitted direction. Choice (D) leaves out most of the fixed fee and so allows counts that cost more than dollars.

A group has volunteers. Each works either a day shift or an evening shift and is classified as trained or untrained. The day shift has trained and untrained volunteers. The evening shift has trained and untrained volunteers. One volunteer is selected uniformly at random. Given that the volunteer works the evening shift, what is the probability that the volunteer is trained?
(A) (B) (C) (D)
Try it in the video or watch the explained answer.
Learn the method in Conditional Probability.
Show the answer
The answer is (C), .
- The condition says the selected volunteer is already in the evening group. That group is the reference group for the probability, so first find its total, .
- Of the evening volunteers, are trained. The probability is therefore .
- Dividing numerator and denominator by gives , which is choice (C). Using all volunteers in the denominator would answer a different question about the whole group.
- Check with the untrained part of the same evening group. Since and , the two categories account for every evening volunteer.
Choice (A) uses the whole group of as the denominator. Choice (B) divides the trained evening volunteers by all trained volunteers, which reverses the condition. Choice (D) gives the untrained fraction within the evening group.

- The input replaces every in the rule. Keeping parentheses around it preserves its sign in both the square and the product, .
- The square means times , which is . The next term is .
- Adding gives , so choice (C) is correct. A minus sign outside the square would give a different expression, but here the sign belongs to the input being squared.
- An independent check comes from factoring the rule as . At the factors are and , and .
Choice (A) evaluates after losing the sign of the input in . Choice (B) reports only the squared term. Choice (D) treats both the square and the product as negative, .

- The right angle is at , and the side opposite it is . So is the hypotenuse and stands alone on one side of the Pythagorean equation, .
- Substituting the two legs gives .
- A length is positive, so take the positive square root, centimeters. That is choice (B).
- Adding the two legs would give a path along two sides, not the straight hypotenuse. The result is longer than either leg, and checks the required relationship.
Choice (A) adds the two legs. Choice (C) subtracts the leg lengths. Choice (D) reports the squared length as a length.
Question 18

The answer is (D), .
- Increasing by adds one more factor of . Each week’s quantity is therefore times the quantity of the week before, .
- The multiplier splits as . The keeps the previous amount, and is the added fraction.
- The weekly increase is , so choice (D) is correct. The value describes the whole new amount as a percentage of the old amount, which includes the original .
- At week the value is , and at week it is . The increase of divided by the original is , which checks the weekly rate.
Choice (A) uses the initial quantity as a percentage. Choice (B) reads the multiplier itself as a percentage increase. Choice (C) reports the whole new amount relative to the previous amount.
Question 20

A scatterplot contains the points , , , , and . A supplied linear model is . What value of does this model predict when ?
(A) (B) (C) (D)
Try it in the video or watch the explained answer.
Learn the method in Scatterplots, Models and Predictions.
Show the answer
The answer is (B), .
- The question asks for a prediction from the model. The plotted point is an observation, while the line gives the predicted value of the model at that input.
- Substituting into the rule gives .
- Choice (B) is correct. The value belongs to the actual data point at that input. A fitted model can differ from an individual observation, so the two values play different roles.
- The prediction is consistent with the rate of the line. At the model gives , and one more unit of input adds , which gives at .
Choice (A) reports the observation at instead of the model prediction. Choice (C) uses only and drops the intercept. Choice (D) copies the last observed -value, the one at .
Question 21

A workspace rental costs dollars for hours, where and . If , what is ?
Try it in the video or watch the explained answer.
Learn the method in Rearranging Formulas.
Show the answer
The answer is .
- The formula combines a fixed dollars with dollars for each hour. To find the hours from a total cost, first remove the fixed charge, .
- Dividing the remaining charge by gives the hours, . The whole quantity belongs in the numerator, because that is the amount charged at the hourly rate.
- With this gives hours. Dividing the total first and then subtracting would mix dollar and hour quantities.
- Substituting hours into the original rule gives dollars. The duration is nonnegative and the original cost is recovered, so the response is .

Try it in the video or watch the explained answer.
Learn the method in Rational Expressions and Excluded Values.
Show the answer
The answer is (D), , with .
- The original denominator cannot equal zero. Since at , that input is excluded before anything is simplified.
- Both terms of the numerator contain , so it factors as . This creates a common factor with the denominator, .
- For the allowed inputs, is not zero, so the common factor cancels and leaves . The restriction stays attached to the result, which gives choice (D).
- At the original fraction is . At the original expression is undefined, even though the simplified expression alone could be evaluated there. That is why choice (A) wrongly enlarges the domain.
Choice (A) drops the excluded value of the original expression. Choice (B) does not keep the numerator after factoring and canceling. Choice (C) cancels terms that do not match and gives the wrong excluded value.
Block 2
Question 23
Algebra, multiple choice
For the same rental duration hours, service A charges dollars and service B charges dollars. For what nonnegative value of are the two charges equal?
(A) (B) (C) (D)
Try it in the video or watch the explained answer.
Learn the method in Systems of Equations by Graphs and Substitution.
Show the answer
The answer is (B), .
- Equal charges mean the two complete cost expressions have the same value at the same duration, . The fixed fees matter as well as the hourly rates.
- Subtract from both sides, then subtract . This leaves , so the matching duration is hours.
- Another view gives the same result. Service A starts dollars higher but rises dollars less per hour, so it takes hours to make up the difference.
- At hours, service A charges dollars and service B charges dollars. Choice (B) gives the duration. The was the difference in fixed fees, not a number of hours.
Choice (A) divides the gap in fixed fees by rather than by the actual difference in rates, . Choice (C) reports the initial dollar difference as a duration. Choice (D) reports the fixed fee of service A rather than the matching duration.

Try it in the video or watch the explained answer.
Learn the method in Mean, Median and Weighted Averages.
Show the answer
The answer is (B). The mean increases by , and the median stays .
- There are seven values, and their original sum is . The original mean is . The middle value of the sorted list is the fourth value, , so the original median is also .
- Replacing by adds to the sum without changing the number of values. The new sum is and the new mean is , an increase of .
- The new ordered list is , , , , , , . Its fourth value is still , so the median does not change.
- Choice (B) describes both changes. In the mean, the increase in the sum is shared over seven values, while the middle position of the ordered list keeps the same value.
Choice (A) assumes that changing an extreme value also shifts the middle value, but the fourth value remains . Choice (C) uses , the increase in the sum, while the increase in the mean is because there are seven values. Choice (D) has the two measures backward. The mean uses the total and therefore changes, while the median uses the middle position, which stays the same here.

- Zero gives , and six gives . Negative six would give instead, so choice (B) is the complete solution set.
Choice (A) loses by dividing by . Choice (C) uses the wrong sign for the nonzero root. Choice (D) adds a negative root that does not work and leaves out zero.

A circular sign has a diameter of centimeters. Two perpendicular diameters divide the sign into four equal regions. One of these regions is painted. The area of the painted region is square centimeters. What is the value of ?
Try it in the video or watch the explained answer.
Learn the method in Arc Length and Sector Area.
Show the answer
The answer is .
- The radius is half the diameter, centimeters.
- The area of the full circle is square centimeters.
- The two perpendicular diameters divide the full turn into four equal sectors. The painted region is one quarter of the circle, so its area is square centimeters.
- Comparing with the requested form gives .
- As a check, four regions of area have total area , and a radius of gives a diameter of , which matches both the partition and the stated size.

A random sample of residents is surveyed about extending a community center’s hours. In the sample, percent support the change. A report gives a margin of error of percentage points for estimating the population percentage who support it. Using that margin, which interval estimates the population percentage?
(A) to (B) to (C) to (D) to
Try it in the video or watch the explained answer.
Learn the method in Margin of Error and Interpreting Estimates.
Show the answer
The answer is (C), to .
- The sample percentage, , is the central estimate of the population percentage. The supplied margin extends that estimate by percentage points in each direction.
- Subtracting gives the lower endpoint percent, and adding gives the upper endpoint percent. The interval is to , which is choice (C).
- A percentage point is a direct difference between percentages. Here is subtracted and added, not percent of , which would be percentage points and give a different width.
- The interval expresses uncertainty about the population percentage. It does not say that each resident lies between two percentages, and it does not make an exact fact about the population. No confidence level is given, so none is assumed.
- The midpoint checks the original estimate, since , and each endpoint is percentage points away from it.
Choice (A) uses the margin itself as an endpoint. Choice (B) covers only the lower half of the interval. Choice (D) covers only the upper half of the interval.

Learn the method in Slope and Rate of Change.
Show the answer
The answer is (B), .
- Slope compares the change in the vertical coordinate with the change in the horizontal coordinate, . Choose one direction between the points and use the same order in both differences.
- From the first point to the second, increases by and decreases by . The slope is .
- The negative sign agrees with a falling line. Swapping rise and run would give , which measures a different ratio.
- As a check, reverse the direction in both differences, . The slope is the same in either direction, so choice (B) is consistent.
Choice (A) drops the negative sign. Choice (C) swaps rise and run. Choice (D) swaps rise and run and drops the sign.

Learn the method in Expressions, Substitution and Mathematical Language.
Show the answer
The answer is .
- A solution is an input that makes the original equation true. Since is given, substitute it and solve for the coefficient, .
- Subtracting from both sides gives , and dividing by gives .
- The question asks for the coefficient, so there is no need to solve again for the input it already gives. The nonzero input makes the division valid and determines one coefficient.
- Putting both values back into the original equation gives , so the response is .

Learn the method in Sine, Cosine and Tangent in Right Triangles.
Show the answer
The answer is (D), .
- The hypotenuse lies opposite the right angle, so it is . The side opposite the reference angle is .
- Sine is the opposite side divided by the hypotenuse, so , which is choice (D).
- The ratio uses the adjacent leg and gives the cosine instead, . Side roles depend on the named angle, so keep that angle marked while choosing the ratio.
- The lengths fit a right triangle, since . The sine is positive and less than , as expected for this acute angle.
Choice (A) uses adjacent over hypotenuse, the cosine ratio. Choice (B) uses adjacent over opposite. Choice (C) uses opposite over adjacent, the tangent ratio.

The answer is (A), .
- A perfect square factor helps simplify an exact square root. Since and , write .
- Both factors are nonnegative, so the square root of the product is the product of the square roots, .
- Choice (A) is correct. The does not come out unchanged, because its square root is . The multiplication also stays multiplication, so the result is not .
- Squaring the positive result gives . The square root symbol means the nonnegative root, and , so this confirms the exact value.
Choice (B) takes out the square factor without taking its square root. Choice (C) replaces multiplication with addition. Choice (D) squares to rather than .

A school has students. An optional online survey about school lunches receives responses from students who choose to participate. No random sampling is used. Which statement is best supported by this sampling method?
(A) The sample must be representative because students responded. (B) The responses must match every student’s opinion. (C) Volunteers may differ from other students, and the method does not establish a representative school sample. (D) The survey randomly assigned students to different lunches.
Try it in the video or watch the explained answer.
Learn the method in Samples, Populations and Bias and Experiments, Observations and Causal Claims.
Show the answer
The answer is (C). Volunteers may differ from other students, and the method does not establish a representative school sample.
- The population of interest is all students. The sample contains the who chose to answer, and that choice is part of how the sample was selected.
- Students with especially strong opinions might be more likely to respond. The question does not say whether that happened, but it means this method alone cannot establish that the volunteers represent the whole school.
- A large number of responses does not by itself remove that selection issue. Choice (C) states the supported limitation without assuming that every volunteer is unrepresentative or that the results are necessarily wrong.
- Random assignment is a different decision, about who receives a treatment, and this survey did not assign lunches at all. The description gives voluntary responses, not a randomly selected sample or a randomized experiment.
Choice (A) treats sample size as proof that the sample is representative. Choice (B) claims exact agreement with every member of the population without evidence. Choice (D) invents a random assignment of treatments that the survey does not have.

Algebra, multiple choice
Which ordered pair satisfies both and ?
(A) (B) (C) (D)
Try it in the video or watch the explained answer.
Learn the method in Graphing Inequalities and Feasible Regions.
Show the answer
The answer is (A), .
- Both inequalities must hold for the same ordered pair. In each choice the first coordinate is and the second is , so the values can be substituted directly before drawing a region.
- For the first comparison is , which is true, and the second is , also true. So choice (A) satisfies both conditions.
- Choice (B) meets the first condition, since , but has , and the strict second inequality excludes that value. Choice (C) fails the first condition, since is false, and choice (D) fails the second, since is false.
- The graph tells the same story. The line is included and the line is excluded, so the allowed region is . The point lies on the included lower boundary and below the excluded upper boundary, which confirms choice (A).
Choice (B) includes despite the strict upper bound. Choice (C) checks only and fails . Choice (D) checks only the first inequality and goes above the upper bound.
