This page goes with a video that works through a full SAT Math practice test at intermediate level. The test has questions in two blocks of . Fifteen questions are algebra, fifteen are advanced math, seven are problem solving and data analysis, and seven are geometry and trigonometry, and each block mixes all four areas. Thirty-three questions are multiple choice with four options, and eleven are student-produced responses, where you enter your own answer.
The questions are original practice written in the style of the digital SAT. They are not an official test, so the result is a count of correct answers, not a score on the SAT scale. In the video each question is read in full with its choices, there is a pause for your own attempt, and then the solution is explained step by step. The explanations work every question by hand, without the graphing calculator.
Below, every question is written out with its choices. Try each one on paper first. Then open the answer to check your work, or jump to the moment in the video where it is explained. Each question also links to the lesson of this course that teaches its method.
How to use this test
- Work through one block at a time. A block has questions, the same number as a module of the digital SAT, so allowing minutes per block gives you practice with pacing.
- Write down your answer to every question before you open anything. For a student-produced response, write the exact value you would enter.
- Open “Show the answer” for each question and mark every miss.
- For each miss, watch the explained answer in the video and note the cause, such as a gap in a concept, a misread question, a computation slip or a slow method.
- Review the linked lessons for the topics where your misses collect.
Block 1
Question 1
Algebra, multiple choice

- The interval for the proportion runs from to .
- Multiply each endpoint by the number of registered members, and .
- This gives to registered members.
- As a check, the center is and the margin is , and and .
This is a reported estimation interval, so it does not give an exact count of supporters. The confidence level describes how often this interval method covers the true value across repeated random samples. The random sample supports inference to registered library members, not automatically to everyone in the town.
Choice (A) multiplies by the sample size instead of the members, which gives counts on the scale of the sample. Choice (C) keeps the point estimate as the lower endpoint instead of subtracting the margin. Choice (D) takes percent of percent, which turns a margin of percentage points into a different quantity.

A draining tank has volume liters after minutes, while water remains in the tank. If represents elapsed time in seconds, which statement correctly describes the coefficient of in the equivalent formula for ?
(A) Volume decreases by liters per second. (B) Volume increases by liter per second. (C) Volume decreases by liters per second. (D) Volume decreases by liter per second.

Learn the method in Slope and Rate of Change.
Show the answer
The answer is (D). The volume decreases by liter per second.
- A minute has seconds, so .
- Substitute to get .
- Simplify to . The coefficient means the volume decreases by liter per second.
- Check that , so after one minute both formulas give liters.
The negative sign matters, because it records a decrease. The model stops describing the water volume once the tank is empty, so it is not extended to negative volumes. Choice (A) keeps the old number while changing the unit from minutes to seconds. Choice (B) converts the size of the rate but turns the decrease into an increase. Choice (C) multiplies by instead of dividing, which treats each of the sixty seconds as if it lasted a full minute.
Question 42
Problem-Solving and Data Analysis, multiple choice
A city agency takes a simple random sample of people from its registered cyclists. It randomly assigns to receive reminder A and to receive reminder B. All other study procedures are the same. An appropriate analysis finds a statistically significant difference in response rates. Which conclusion is best supported by this design?
(A) Reminder type can have a causal effect on response, with inference to registered cyclists under the study conditions. (B) Only association can be considered because random assignment does not support causal inference. (C) The same effect is established for all city residents, including people outside the sampling population. (D) One reminder must improve the response of every individual.

Learn the method in Experiments, Observations and Causal Claims.
Show the answer
The answer is (A).
- The design has two different random steps. The first selects people from the population of registered cyclists, and that sampling step supports estimating results for the population the sample was drawn from.
- The second step randomly assigns the sampled people to two groups of , one for each reminder, with all other procedures the same. Random assignment supports a causal comparison between the reminders.
- The problem supplies the result of an appropriate analysis, so there is no significance to calculate from response counts. Combining that result with the sampling and assignment design supports choice (A).
- The population scope is registered cyclists under the study conditions. People outside that sampling frame may differ in ways the study does not address, so the design does not establish the same effect for every city resident.
- A difference between groups also does not mean that the reminder changes every individual’s behavior. Some people could respond under either reminder and others under neither, and that is compatible with an overall causal effect on the response rate.
- To check, trace each conclusion to the step that supports it. Random selection concerns who the result represents, and random assignment concerns the comparison between treatments. Choice (A) keeps both roles and the stated population.
Choice (B) denies the causal role of the stated random assignment. Choice (C) generalizes beyond the sampling frame without support. Choice (D) treats an effect on the group as a guarantee about each individual.
