Unit 6 of 6

Test Strategy

  • 2 lessons
  • Parts 115 to 118

The digital SAT has a graphing calculator built into the testing app. These lessons show how to use it to solve equations, find intersections, and check models with tables and sliders, and when algebra by hand is faster.

Every lesson is a pair of videos. The theory part explains the idea and the practice part works through problems. Each lesson page has the definitions and an example for every key term.

Using the Graphing Calculator

  1. Desmos for Equations and Intersections

How to turn an equation or a system into graphs in the built-in Desmos calculator, read intersections and zeros, and tell when a decimal on screen is only an approximation of the exact answer.

  2. Desmos Tables, Parameters and Model Checks

How to enter data in a Desmos table, fit and read a regression, explore a parameter with a slider, and back every on-screen hint with an exact algebraic reason.
